Sing me, Sing me, Baby on Crayons to Perfume!

This week on Crayons to Perfume! the spotlight is on singer and song writer Toni Wine. Most famous for singing an Archies song she didn't sing lead on, and writing 'Groovy Kind Of Love' for the Mindbenders (along with often songwriting partner Carol Bayer [Sager]) housed in the infamous Brill Building although not part of the whole "Brill Building Sound" as we've come to know it. Toni wrote recorded and had a hit with the first song she wrote at the age of 14 'My Boyfriend's Coming Home For Christmas' and Don Kirshner to hire her to write more songs from a teenage girl's perspective. Today we'll be hearing many of the songs Toni Wine penned for others to sing, as well as a selection of songs she sang herself released on singles or as demos.
