Intoxica With Howie Pyro
We are happy to announce that Howie Pyro's Intoxica radio show is now streaming on WFMU's Rock 'n' Soul Ichiban 24 hour webstream!!! Intoxica is heard every Tuesday night from 9-11 PM PST on internet radio station Luxuria Music and you can download podcasts of the show. Check out the 2-22ed show when our own Dave the Spazz stopped by the Luxuria studios in Hollywood.
Howie shares our love of demented rock 'n' soul records from the 50s and 60s and will be a tight fit in our radio universe. Welcome, Howie!
Don't forget you can take us with you wherever you go with the WFMU phone app. It's like having a transitor radio, that actually plays good music! Wow.

Attention People Of Earth
Kicks Books has done it again with a new hip-pocket paperback collecting the science fiction poetry of the one and only Sun Ra. "THIS PLANET IS DOOMED serves up a traumatic torrent of future shock—deeply personal and critical commentary and unsettling advice to the people of Earth, who fail to acknowledge this planet’s role in the universe." Join the Kicks Books crew along with Sun Ra music archivist, Michael D. Anderson, who will be reading from the book at the scenic Lakeside Lounge on Sunday July 17th. Mr. Bacon Fat, Andre Williams will get the night rolling with a reading from his best seller SWEETS as well as a sneak peak from his follow up STREETS. 7 PM Sharp. Surprises in store!
Other Kicks books to look forward to include SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR SATAN by our unsung hero, Nick Tosches and TALL COOL ONE by Kim Fowley.

Straightening out the TWIST!
Here's a great slice of radio history from WNEW as some uptight announcers from the station (with the exception of one kool kat) try to get to the bottom of all this TWIST madness.
Pay particular attention to the 3rd part of the show when DJ Pete Myers (aka the Mad Daddy) pops by.
Thanks to Howie Pyro of Intoxica for throwing this our way.

Florida Vacation
Visitors never fail to marvel at the replica of London's famous Big Ben Clock at the entrance to Tussaud's London Wax Museum, St. Petersburg Beach, Florida.
Kennedy Memorial - John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917-1963)
In memory of the 35th President of the United States we present this scene with pride and sorrow. Shown at Josephine Tussaud's famous London Wax Museum.

scene along with many others can be observed at The London Wax Museum.
