The Monster!



Ahhhh... Gotta love that frightening model car destroyer The Giant Gila Monster from 1959!
I know I do.
Pure shlocky fun!




Below you can see what happens when ol' Gila shows up at the teen dance hungry for Rock & Roll Action, but gets subjected to saccharine chump Don Sullivan's warbling instead.



Surely the shindig would have been much more... umm... SMASHING...  if  Evans Carroll & The Tempos had been booked as the musical entertainment.

    read all about the Giant Gila Monster controversy in the new Nick Tosches book from Kicks Books & look for ot one but TWO Giant Gila Monster 45s coming any minute from Norton Records!!!

    Chicago's Son of Svengoolie did a mashup of Giant Gila Monster and Hot Rods from Hell, which he aired as Hot Rods from Gila. It was amazing how well the two flicks could be edited together, and made for a groovy film. Wish they'd put that out on DVD.
