That Dairy Queen was 930 Ogden Avenue. Google search suggests we're talking Downer's Grove, Illinois. There's a 930 Ogden in The Bronx too, but it's an apartment building now. Any guesses which one is more likely?
You call that a large popcorn? You'll never get obese at that rate, 50s people...

ReplyDeleteDid anyone else get that impression?
I so want to go to the lobby now...
ReplyDeleteI think this set of drive-in clips was from about 1964, not the fifties. The Pepsi ad and the "vote" ad seemed to be from around that time.
ReplyDeleteAgree -- The Vote ad is high pop art-- all Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg. It can't possibly be before the mid 60's. Probably '64 election.

ReplyDeleteThat DQ was in IL, if you Google Map it and go to street level, it is a Kings Health and Spa now....but the building sure looks like an old DQ!
ReplyDeleteThis is from a Wisconsin theater. If you watch the final "ad," for DividenTickets, the addresses cited are all Wisconsin (Highway 51, Tomahawk, etc.).
